Loading bellows are telescopic loading spouts used to transfer bulk materials (such as cement, ash, lime, flour, feed, etc.) from silo, bunker, or filter outlets to receivers like tankers, trucks, railcars, or big bags in a controlled and dust-free manner. The primary goals are to reduce dust emissions, minimize material loss, and ensure safe loading.
Key Features:
- The bellows lowers to the receiver opening (e.g., tanker hatch/cover) for precise alignment
- Material flow begins, usually controlled by a slide valve, rotary valve, or gate
- The bellows fabric prevents dust leakage during material discharge
- If a dust collection (extraction) system is used, dust is drawn from the bellows hood, directed to the filter, and clean air is released; dust can be recovered
After filling, the bellows retracts, and the system closes safely
